What was the last beer you brewed?
I last brewed a stout for the first time, and it came out very nicely. Not super thick, but it still had a nice coffee flavor.
I have a pilsner in the secondary right now. It’s my first attempt at a lager, so I’m curious to see how it turns out.
That is great. I brewed at chocolate stout for Christmas this year and fail miserably. I’ll have to post what I did soon and maybe you can tell me where I went wrong.
Let me know how the pilsner turns out. I just bottled a new Hef on Monday.
I’ve never brewed before, but would love to do so — I’d like to try an IPA or a light beer first.
Yeah, IPAs are pretty easy to do. However, I’m not a big fan of them. If you come to PDX we can do a light beer.
Which yeast have you used/do you recommend? I’m ready to start my 3rd batch, and would like to try this recipe.
I just kegged my 2nd batch which is a McMenamins Ruby clone and its pretty tasty.
I used W’yeast “American” yeast. Let me know how your Ruby clone turns out. Never tried it, but would be interested in trying it.
The Ruby clone came out really well actually. Well liked by co-workers and friends so far. I would have liked a bit more raspberry flavor and sweetness, but that will be easy to remedy in the next batch!
