Brews for New Avenues – World’s rarest beers to be auctioned at Portland nonprofit festival

This is really exciting for me to announce.  Since I have a huge passion for the homeless here in Portland, I’m wicked excited that local breweries are stepping up and helping out!  Hope you can make it!

PORTLAND, OREGON – The world’s rarest beers are coming to Portland for Brews for New Avenues (BFNA). The nonprofit rare-beer festival boasts the city’s only live auction of unique craft beers and has exclusive beers on tap. New Avenues for Youth’s ambassador board is looking to build on the success of last year’s event, which raised $23,000 for local homeless youth and attracted 500 attendees. Now in its third year, BFNA is solidifying its reputation as a must-attend event for beer enthusiasts, and breweries throughout Europe, the U.S. and Oregon are lining up to participate and support a great cause. This year’s incredible lineup of live and silent auction items include Hair of the Dog’s Dave, Grote Dorst’s van’t Kasteel, h.ertie’s Trippel, The Lost Abbey’s Isabelle Proximus, and a signed Speedway Stout variant set of six bottles from AleSmith. The full list of beers can be viewed at!2014-event/c4ww

Brews for New Avenues attendees will also be able to enjoy more than 40 keg tappings of fantastic craft beers from Cantillon, de Molen, De Struise and Mikkeller alongside domestic favorites including The Commons, Cascade, Deschutes, 10 Barrel, Firestone Walker, Victory and more. Other highlights include the “Wall of Beer” (pay $10, select a mystery bottle), raffles for beer-centric items from local establishments, chocolate stout beer floats, as well as food carts and live music.

About BiteSize

Hi! I’m Jenna, but I got the nickname BiteSize in high school. I love homebrewing beer, thus BiteSize Brews. A blog focused on homebrewing, local brewery reviews and recipes. I’m lucky enough to live in the microbrewery capital of the world. I’m also a big fan of social media (chances are I’ll sprinkle a bit of it into this blog).
