Home made hard cider is really (I mean) really easy to make. It also seems to be getting trendier and trendier these days. So instead of just joining the crowds and ordering up a nice hard cider. Make your own! You’ll impress your friends and have complete control of what you are putting in your body. Here’s the basic recipe for five gallons of hard cider. In five easy steps!
Ingredients:
- Five gallons of apple juice – this can be from a local farm, grocery store or from concentrate. Just make sure it doesn’t have any preservatives in it. (That would kill the yeast.)
- 1 packet of champaign yeast
Directions:
STEP ONE: Sanitize your carboy.
STEP TWO: Pour in your five gallons of apple juice.
STEP THREE: Pitch your yeast.
STEP FOUR: Add your airlock.
STEP FIVE: Relax.
Keep an eye on your carboy and in about a month it should be ready to keg or bottle. Enjoy!
