Zupan’s Markets has partnered with Portland’s Zoiglhaus Brewing Company to develop the ninth beer in their Farm-to-Market lineup. Created with some of the world’s most prized German barley and hops, this German-style lager is crisp and refreshing. Light orange in color with white wine notes and aromas of honeydew melon, this easy-drinking lager pairs well with river floats, backyard barbecues, and picnics in the park.
“Zupan’s Markets is excited to be partnering with Zoiglhaus Brewing to expand our Farm-to-Market series into a new style – German lager,” said Zupan’s Markets President and CEO Mike Zupan. “Each beer in our Farm to Market series continues to highlight the expansive beer culture that has been cultivated here in Portland.”
This lager is currently on shelves at all three Zupan’s Markets locations in 12oz 6/pack cans for $10.50. With only 150 cases produced, this beer will only be on shelves for a limited time. The really cool thing about this beer is that it’s the first Zupan’s Farm-to-Market beer that comes in a can!
“Zupan’s Markets shares our commitment to the community, and we are really impressed by their dedication to Oregon craft beer,” said Alan Taylor, Brewmaster and co-founder of Zoiglhaus Brewing Co. “Partnering with them on this collaboration beer is a perfect fit.”
Profile: ABV 4.7%, IBU 22
Malts: German Pilsner, Vienna, Munich, Acidulated malts
Hops: German Opal, Hallertau Blanc, Hüll-Melon
Tasting Notes: Light orange in color and hopped with Opal which gives it a spicy flavor, Hallertau Blanc which provides white wine notes, and Hüll-Melon that gives honeydew melon aromas. It is an easy-drinking lager.
Zupan’s Markets hooked me up with a sample of their beer Farm-to-Market lager with Zoiglhaus. I found it great with a crisp, light grain flavor. As they say, this is an easy-drinking summer beer.
