Come Zwickel with Us!

If you haven’t heard about Zwickelmania yet (which is unlikely if you’ve seen me the last few weeks) it’s this Saturday from 11a-4p!

I’m told it’s basically the best beer event.  I’ve never been but I’m wicked started.  The best part: All the beer samples are free (and there are plenty)!

My friend, Jeffrey, is planing a pretty awesome route from N/NE Portland down to SE Portland to try to maximize the breweries to visit. The rough schedule includes:

1. Ecliptic Brewing (start at 11am sharp)

This is their first Zwickelmania and will have a Cascadian dark ale with food and brewery tours.

2. Widmer Brothers Brewing

For Zwickelmania, they will be doing tours led by our talented brewers and Rob Widmer, sampling of 10 varieties of beers, food pairings, and complimentary sample glass to take home.

3. Coalition Brewing

For Zwickelmania, they will be offering brewery tours, tastings off the tank, special beer releases, to go beer specials and are releasing their new coffee IPA “Night Cap”!!

4. Cascade Brewing

For Zwickelmania, they will be tasting beers from Barrels and Tanks.

5. Base Camp Brewing Company

For Zwickelmania, they are sampling via zwickel, other beer tasting, brewhouse tours, Raffelmania!

6. Hair of the Dog

No idea what they are doing, but I’ve never been so I’m excited.

7. Commons Brewery

For Zwickelmania, they will pull samples from a couple tanks and sell beer at the bar.

8. Hopworks Urban Brewery

For Zwickelmania, they are doing free tours, beer tastings and snacks.

The rest of the year, Brewery tours on Saturday at 3pm.

9. Gigantic Brewing Company (hopefully get here before 4p end)

For Zwickelmania, they are doing Tours and Free Tastings, including special rare beers.

We may add a few ( Alameda Brewing Co., Burnside Brewing, Lucky Labrador Brew Pub) or skip some, depending on how long lines get (looking at you, Cascade)

I’m planning on going by bike, and I’d love for you to join me or meet up along the way if you’re walking/driving/busing/crawling.
