This was the first beer I ever brewed. I adapted an Easy Pale Ale recipe to create this Amber Ale.
Ingredients:
- 7 lbs Amber Liquid Malt Extract
- 1 lb Crystal (80L)
- .5 lb Special Roast (50L)
- 1 tsp Gypsum
- 2 tsp Irish Moss
- 2 oz Cascade Hops (alpha 7.0)
- 2 oz Fuggle Hops (alpha 4.5)
- Wyeast 1056 American Ale Yeast
Hops Schedule:
- 1 oz Cascade @ 60 min
- .5 oz Fuggle @ 60 min
- .5 oz Cascade @ 30 min
- .5 oz Fuggle @ 30 min
- .5 oz Cascade @ 2 min
- .5 oz Fuggle @ 2 min
- .5 oz Fuggle – Dry Hop (in secondary)
Directions:
- Steep grains at 155*F for 30 mins.
- Remove grains and add gypsum.
- Add malt extract and bring to boil.
- Follow hops schedule.
- Add Irish Moss during last 20 minutes of boil.
- Cool
- Top up to 5 galloons.
- Pitch yeast.
- Relax.

I also brewed an amber! A Fat Tire clone, actually.
